Not much sewing today – working a quilt show.

I got busy helping out at a local quilt show at the Kutztown Historical Society today. It’s a really neat building in town! Our friends are having a showing of 32 quilts from their private collection of antiques. There are also many other quilts for sale!

I traded one of my sewing machines in yesterday for a Pfaff 2058. I have not had much time to play with it yet!

NYC – Urban Inspirations

Who cares that we got home at 1:00 am from Atlantic City? Why not go to a quilt show the next morning! This was the Urban Inspirations show at the Fashion Institute of Techonology. Jean and I caught a lecture about Dear Jane quilts by Brenda Papadakis. It was a pretty cool show. We were surprised how many traditional quilts were in the show and it was neat to see Fashion Ave.

I was totally amazed by the elevated parking garages! We also had lunch at Penn Station and saw the Empire State building not too far away!

The Airing of the Quilts

We took a weekend trip to Coudersport, Pa this weekend.  On the way, we stopped in Tunkhannock and got to see part of the annual “Airing of the Quilts”.  It was pretty neat.  Lots of quilts.  On the way out of Tunkhannock, we picked up some honey from a man selling at a little corner booth.  Unfortunately, right after that, my husband got a speeding ticket on Bee Street of all places!!!

Busy, Busy

I’ve resurfaced.  It’s been a busy couple of weeks.  I helped my friend at the Hershey Quilt Show in July and since I have been home, I haven’t had much time to blog!!!  I got some new fun fabrics at the show – Moda’s Fresh Squeezed Fat Quarter bundle, Marcus Brother’s Old Sturbridge Calicos bundle, and the new In the Pink II Bundle from Henry Glass.  I have done some bits of sewing here and there.

I have also been cooking a lot lately, my other favorite hobby!  The boys helped me make hot cross buns yesterday!
